11.11.11 Birthday Celebration

This years birthday is an once in a lifetime experience! It falls on 11.11.11. It will never fall on a date like that again. Since it is an once in a lifetime event I decided to throw myself a little party to celebrate! Here are the invites I designed.

They were super simple to make and because our money is tight (realllly tight) I opted to design the invites as postcards.  The invite size is 5" x 7" and I used 100 lb. cover glossy card stock (you can get this at any office supply store).

In Photoshop, I set the document up as 5" x 7" with a resolution of 300 and RGB for the color. Then I just started to lay layers with different font and sizes of the word and number 11 until I liked what I designed. I then saved a copy as a .psd and a .jpeg. I saved money by setting up the invites two to a page and only needed to print 10 sheets of paper just to make 20 invites.

The great thing about this design is that you can do this in word or pages just by adding text boxes to your document. I used Photoshop because I was going to design something completely different.

The back of the card is very short and sweet and to the point. I designed the top portion of the page for the address information and the bottom half with the party details. I used the same font color as the front with an easy to read font for everyone to read.

I dig the look because it isn't your normal birthday invite.

I'll share the party decorations after I am finished with them.
Here's to 11.11.11- the birthday of a lifetime!

Thanks for reading!
